| Instructor: Kim Butts Description: Students will be required to complete course work in Health Education with a focus on nutrition, mental health, the functioning body, family relationships, disease prevention and control, and substance abuse prevention. Students learn about individual and team activities, acquiring knowledge and skill necessary to maintain personal fitness for a lifetime. The Physical Education component must be completed in a gym or other athletic facility. Students will be required to obtain verification through logs signed by fitness professionals. Extracurricular sports will be considered for partial fulfillment of the physical curriculum component with instructor approval. The contract must be completed to enter into the HPE course and ALL fitness hours must be completed during the course session to receive credit. For more information, click HERE.
